What to expect on your initial appointment.
Your physiotherapy assessment requires a detailed understanding of your child / your concerns. The assessment will initially include asking questions about past medical and family history, developmental concerns, school / nursery and other fun activities your child / you enjoy.
A specialist objective assessment is then required for full assessment young children will require to be in shorts and vests, and babies will be asked to be undressed to nappies in order for observations to be completed.
Following this assessment a management plan will be advised if required, and goals agreed with you.
Working with other professionals.
We understand the importance of working as part of the multi-disciplinary team around your family. We are happy to communicate on your behalf with other professionals working with your child to help support their goals
Cancellations and Rescheduling.
We ask, that when you can, you advise us of cancellation at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment.
Consent
It is essential that parents / legal guardians are present on initial assessments of children to provide written consent for our services
In order for us to offer our services we require to record and store personal data in accordance to the UK law and UK Physiotherapy standards of practice. We will collect, process and store this date under the Data protection Act (DPA) and General Data protection Regulations (GDPR). Click for more details on the privacy policy.
Accreditations
Chartered society of Physiotherapists (CSP) is the professional, educational and trade union body for physiotherapists in the uk and provides professional indemnity insurance for its members.
Health and care professionals council (HPCP) is the regulatory body and register for physiotherapists. Setting and maintaining standards of practice and conduct.
Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (APCP) is a specialist interest group within the CSP.
